Living in an increasingly divided and distracted world, you have a valid desire for more connection.
But to foster genuine connection, you must be present in your relationships with yourself and others.
Being present is easy when things are calm. However, when emotions run high, you might find yourself ‘Usain Bolt-ing’ out of there! You may feel overwhelmed as anxiety and fear take control.
This response, known as flight in nervous system terms, occurs when you experience a heightened state of avoidance. In such moments, presence and connection become impossible.
Fortunately, you can take steps to ensure the flight reaction doesn’t control you.
Let me explain this in real terms!
A couple of days ago, I had a heated conversation with my husband. As the conversation unfolded, I felt the familiar sensations of flight in my body. My heart rate increased, my muscles tensed, and I twisted and turned my torso in a subconscious attempt to escape the situation.
For many years, I defaulted to this response, allowing it to make me run away, disconnect, self-silence, and build resentment.
So, what’s different now?
Nervous System Coaching taught me how to stay!
I’ve built awareness to recognize when my flight response kicks in and developed the presence of mind to choose healthier ways of navigating difficult situations…and you can too!
It’s absolutely possible to:
✔️ Learn how to feel and understand the sensations in your body so you no longer feel scared or overwhelmed by them.
✔️ Implement nervous system practices that help you connect to a sense of safety and grounding when things get tough.
✔️ Develop the capacity to pause, return to centre, and stay present with what’s being said, allowing you to navigate difficult situations instead of running away at top speed.
I weave embodiment and nervous system practices into the fabric of my coaching. Because, these modalities offer powerful ways to slow down and bring awareness inside your body so that you become attuned to what you’re experiencing in each moment.
As you honour this process, you begin to turn inward, facing what’s unfolding in your system rather than turning away.
You create space to listen, feel, and understand what’s present.
In times of overwhelm and fear, you can pause, disrupt conditioned reactions, and choose healthier ways to respond. These ways foster presence, connection, and a deeper relationship with yourself and others.
If you desire more presence and connection in your relationships – with yourself, others and the world around you – you’re invited to book a call with me to see how I can best support you with my embodiment magic!
