At some point in midlife, we say to ourselves, “I can’t keep doing this to myself.”
We keep sabotaging ourselves. Stay in miserable situations. Get stuck in painful thought loops. We long for change, but something deeper keeps pulling the strings – something that feels out of reach.
That “something” is our core beliefs
Core beliefs are the deeply held assumptions we form about ourselves and the world. We usually develop them in childhood or adolescence, via the systems we grow up in (family, culture, religion) and the experiences we go through.
For example, if adults shamed you for crying as a child, you may have formed the belief that expressing emotion isn’t safe. Later in life, you might find it difficult to access vulnerability in relationships.
If no one consistently met your emotional needs growing up, you might carry the belief that you’re unlovable just as you are. To cope, you might shape-shift into who others want you to be.
Most of the time, we don’t even realize these beliefs are running our lives. They operate in the background—automatic, unexamined, and deeply ingrained. That’s why we keep repeating the same stories and patterns, even when we desperately want things to change.
Shifting core beliefs with Feminine Embodiment Coaching
To truly shift, we need to work with our core beliefs, not just understand them. We need to identify them, trace their origins, and get curious about the role they’ve played in our lives. But even when we gain awareness, we can still let those beliefs drive our behavior—especially if we stay in our heads.
To loosen their grip, we must feel our core beliefs.
In Feminine Embodiment Coaching, we bring these beliefs into the body. We feel their texture, their shape, their sensation. That’s where real transformation begins.
It might sound counter-intuitive to sit with something like, “I am unlovable.” But when we let that belief live in the body—just for a moment—we create an opening. We begin to move the pain and shame attached to it. We start to soften it, release it, and shift the emotional energy it holds.
And as that energy moves, we stop acting from a place of shame. We start making choices, building relationships, and taking actions from a place that feels aligned with our truth.
Feminine Embodiment Coaching gives us the space to access the body’s wisdom—truths and clarity the mind alone can’t reach.
So if you suspect a core belief might be shaping your experience—and you’re ready to untangle it at the root—I’d love to hear from you. Tell me what’s going on and how you’d like things to be different.
